I went to Los Angeles to celebrate the life of Tito Polee. He is the dad of my best friend, Leo who passed away last year. This is his first death anniversary, and his family wanted to remember him by a Eucharistic celebration and of course lots of food!

My Failed Ski Trip

Over the weekend, I was so excited to go on my very first ski trip. My good friend Ben and his friends were going skiing that weekend and I joined in. I went to Paragon Sports and grabbed a couple of basic ski gear and of course my ski outfit. Damn! I didnt know ski outfits could be very expensive. I even booked a personal instructor for that day so I can learn the basics of snow skiing the right way. So off we go to Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. It was a three hour drive, passing through Connecticut and Massachusetts. It was drizzling that morning. And yeah, it escalated to a full blown storm the rest of the day. Yup, they closed down the slopes by 4pm. So much for my first ski trip.

Next best thing to do. We drove to the nearest outlet shops. The trip wasn't a total waste!

Our Mikee is a STAR!

Leo and I went on a road trip to Boston to surprise Mikee and support him on his theatrical debut. He was part of the ensemble in the "Pirates of Penzance." He surprised all the experienced actors in the production as it was his first time to do musical theater. And after further deliberation from his friends and some of his co-actors, we deemed Mikee to be a STAR!

This was taken after Leo's Recital at the Manhattan School of Music. It's the first time (in a long time) that the entire barkada was complete. It's a nice to know that you can count on your friends for support whenever you need them.

Friday Night Chillin'

It was a loooong week for all of us last week. It was inevitable that we have one of those eternally long dinners and maybe pig out on some yummy pinkberry ice cream! And so we did. To end the night, we decided to go to G Lounge for some cocktails. But it was too early so we just walked to this new cafe that Galasi was telling us about. It was great that we walked in that night and accidentally discovered Connie and her band. They were performing classic songs from way back. She has this soothing voice that really travels through your soul. We're definitely coming back. Leo's performing this Friday with them! Yey!

Happy Birthday Pauline!

Of all the girls i've loved before, Pauline "Popay" Ranada is probably the one person who truly, and i mean truly understands and gets me. We've been friends ever since 1994. I was heading a theatre group in De La Salle University, and on that day when we were recruiting people, there was this bitchy, grungy, god-know-what-she-was-wearing figure of a girl. I thought to myself, now thats a character. But i would have never imagined that we will be friends. Much to my surprise, we turned out to be great friends. I actually fell in love with her, but she turned me down (that bitch!).

We crossed paths again when she moved to Los Angeles and became my roomie. We actually shared a bed for almost a year. I won't forget that day when i saw her boobies as I accidentally walked into the bathroom while she was changing! Yeah!
